Abstract

The graded hand shovel turning of the ЛС59-1 (LS59-1) brass was chosen as the research object of this article. This article consideres three types of this turning: each of them was formed on the certain stage of the production process of the wire obtaining from the casted blank. The aim of this research was the investigation of the usage possibility of the graded hand shovel turning from the LS59-1 brass for the wire obtaining by the scheme, which excludes its remelting, as well as to research the structure and properties of this wire. As a result, there was developed the obtaining technology of the wire from the graded hand shovel turning, made from the LS59-1 brass, which included the briquetting of the graded hand shovel turning with the temperature by 400–420 оC, the extrusion of the briquets with temperature by 460–470 оC with the reductions by 32 and 56 and cold drawing with the intermediate annealing. The mechanical properties of the obtained wire correspond to the requirements of the State Standard 1066-90, which was stated for the LS59-1 brass wire, made by the traditional technology. According to this, the wire, made from the graded hand shovel turning, can be recommended for the usage.
