Abstract | Generally, the usage of impact crushers is not recommended in the process of the kimberlite ore crushing, because of the natural diamonds fragility. However, under the certain conditions, the high efficiency of the disintegration degree and the disclosure of mineral forms may be the reason for their usage. One possible way to use the shock disintegration can be the process, associated with the crystals exposure, for example, after the X-ray separation stage. For the purpose of the significant reduction of the circulating load and the efficient interstage crushing, there was proposed to use a combined impact crusher DKD-300, designed in the Institute of Mining (Ural Department of Russian Academy of Sciences). The timely pin of the exposure crystals from the crusher’s operating zone is an important factor to ensure the maximum safety of the crystals in the disintegration processes, and to avoid the unwanted effects of the mechanical shock, discovered in the disintegration area. Fulfillment of the foregoing conditions is also provided in the described crusher DKD-300, at the expense of free passage between the rotor disintegrated ore from the top down. This paper gives the research results of the combined impact crusher DKD-300, in the crushing process of kimberlite ore of the “Zarnitsa” deposit. According to the degree of disintegration and preservation of diamond crystals, there is also considered the comparative evaluation of the combined impact crushers, applied for the disintegration of kimberlite ore. The high disintegration degree in the DKD-300 crusher is equal to 5.5, which is 1.65 times higher, than in the crusher NP-1007, which was tested on the same ore. Damage of the diamonds, coming in a free state into the crusher’s feeding is 9.1%, which is approximately equal to the index in autogenous grinding mills, but three times lower during the delivery of diamonds in the closed state (in the concrete models). The obtained results make it possible to recommend the crusher DCD-300 for the interstage crushing of kimberlite ore. This research work was held with the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation, within the project No. 2010-218-01-001 “Creation of complex innovation environmentally safe technology of extraction and processing of diamondiferous ores in the Far North”, which is being held with the participation of North-Eastern Federal University named after M. K. Ammosov and “ALROSA” JSC. |
