Gornyi Zhurnal
"Gornyi Zhurnal" No. 12, 2018 comprises of traditional sections. It opens with a contribution made by the members of the Energy Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and devoted to the overview of the coal industry development in the Rostov Region over a period from 2000 to 2025. The relevance of the analysis consists in the fact that 90 % of coal resources in the region (East Donbass) are anthracite which is free of harmful gases and methane, and widely applicable on commercial scale. The authors show ways for the coal mining industry to come out of recession and propose measures to be undertaken for employment of personnel after closure of mines.

Gulyaev for correlation between the budget and performance of a large corporation in a region in terms of the tax relationship between the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and ALROSA Group.
In recent years, long conveyor systems enjoy increasingly wider application in surface and underground mines all over the world. Such long conveyor belts have to run over natural obstacles, which involves bending of belts in vertical and horizontal planes. The reputed experts from the NUST MISIS College of Mining put forward a design procedure for calculation of curved conveyor belts.
For the first time, Mining Journal publishes the glossary containing 600 terms in geomechanics (in English and in Russian). The glossary will be of assistance for specialists wishing to get acquainted with foreign advancements in this area of science.
