The scope of the December 2019 Issue of Mining Journal embraces nearly all traditional subjects.
The issue opens with a problem-formulating article entitled: Strategic Subsoil Management as the Factor of Economic Security of Russia, by Professor E.A. Kuklina. The article, based on the assessment of risks in mineral mining, proposes improvement measures for the taxation system for subsoil users.
The contribution from the fellows of the Kola Science Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences demonstrates the ample opportunities for utilizing natural minerals and mining waste as building materials in the Murmansk Region. A team of specialists discusses enhanced utilization of resource potential of ore fields and suggests developing or fields by stages with regard to varying geological conditions and at appropriate adjustment of engineering solutions. The article on prospects of dredging in placer mining offers positive recommendations on using modular dredges in combination with shovels and dozers for field preparation. The scientists from IPKON RAS have generalized aspects of application of new chemical compositions to recovery of fine gold from mineral processing waste.
