Chernye Metally
The journal "Chernye Metally" No. 12-2022 has been published. This issue presents an insert dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the chair for Materials Science and Technology of Materials of the Orenburg State University. The staff of the chair told about the history of its creation, as well as the main directions of research and development in the field of heat treatment, welding and other issues of materials science.
In the section “Ore dressing”, an article by A.E. Pelevin about the possibility of using a two-stage grinding scheme instead of a three-stage one by using fine screening in the second grinding stage for titanomagnetite ore is presented.
A team of authors from Nosov MSTU published studies on the development of technological parameters for the production of sinter from titanium-magnetite ores of the Suroyam deposit in the Chelyabinsk region (section "Sintering") and the possibility of reducing iron with additional hydrogen in the conditions of blast-furnace production at MMK (section "Iron production").
In the section "Rolling and metallurgy", specialists of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and MMK presented a method for developing a technology for the production of hot-rolled coils in the conditions of existing production, the technology and characteristics of which go beyond the nameplate data of the equipment. Also in this section, the authors from NRNU MEPhI published studies on the properties of alloys of the Fe - Cr - Al - Si system used as fuel rod cladding material.
The section "Coating and corrosion protection" is noteworthy, which presents an overview of zinc melt alloying systems for hot dip galvanizing, as well as a study of protective coatings based on chromium formed by friction cladding (authors - O.S. Bondareva and O.S. Dobychin).
The reader will also be interested in the traditional section "History of Metallurgy", which tells about the history of the development and creation of heterogeneous tank armor by Soviet metallurgical engineers of the Izhora and Mariupol metallurgical plants.
