The Uchalinsky Mining and Processing Integrated Works JSC is the largest producer of copper, zinc and pyrite concentrates in Bashkortostan and Russia. Formally, the Company was launched on July 22, 1954 by the USSR Ministry of Nonferrous Metallurgy resolution on management of the Uchalinsky Mining and Processing Integrated Works being built. The subsequent development of the Uchalinsky district and the town of Uchaly was inseparable from the Company. At the present time, the long-term development program has been elaborated for the Uchalinsky Mining and Processing Integrated Works with involvement of Novo-Uchalinsky, Ozerny and Zapadno-Ozerny deposits. The ultimate reserves of the deposits enable their gradual entrainment and development, in working with all might, without reduction in ore mining and processing outputs, as actual reserves of the operating Uchalinsky and Uzelginsky underground mines will be depleted. Concerning the personnel policy, one of the main line of activity of the Company is the enhancement of occupational potential of the manpower resources. Along here, the main part is given to the personnel training aimed at higher professional competence. This article describes the sweeping social policy of the Company, towards the social and economic improvement of the Company’s employees and their families, as well as the retired employees, and towards assistance in public health service and development in terms of occupational safety. The Company’s preferred direction in the area of sports and culture is the successful activities of children’s sports and creative schools. The Company’s anniversary is an important historical date and a memorable milestone that the Company has reached to the best advantage.
