Abstract | In view of enhanced mineral mining in Russia’s Far East and the required accelerated replenishment of mineral reserves, the authors give back observation and describe rich experience gained in locating and surveying promising areas and bodies containing tin, tungsten, lead–zinc, gold, porphyry copper and other kind ore in Primorye using the combination of electric exploration and other geophysical and electrochemical methods. The article describes characteristics, capacity and effectiveness of the natural-field methods, provoked polarization, transient phenomena and their modifications. Electric exploration data interpretation methods and computer-aided mathematical modeling are illustrated. The authors adduce examples of the resultant maps of geological structure and appraisals of ore content in the explored territories. Emphasizing efficiency, high productivity and key role of electric exploration techniques in location and appraisal of promising ore areas, the authors consider them a part of reviving regular geological examination of the Earth’ interior in the Primorski Krai with the concurrent re-evaluation of the earlier survey data in view of the new geological–geophysical information and modern data processing and interpretation methods. |
