Abstract | The Tata Steel Company, the 2nd steel producer in Europe, has integrated the new bath for hot-dip galvanizing in its largest DVL3 line for MagiZinc innovatinve Zn–Mg coating production. This unit located in Ijmuiden can provide coating up to 400,000 tons of steel sheet with width up to 2020 mm. Such coated sheets will be delivered to the automotive industry, for internal and external auto components. This coating is thinner that conventional one and provides the same corrosion resistance. At the same time, the evident advantages of this coating also include decrease of tool contamination by 30% and increase of the galvanizing line productivity. Additionally, delay time decreases due to more rare cleaning of nozzles. The Tata Steel company also developed and suggested to the producers the progressive engineering service TCO Scan MagiZinc that can help the customers to optimize their processes and applications. |
