Abstract

The results of scientific-practical work on research of regularities of increase and pulling-down the flanges of a tram rail are resulted in this article for rolling in four-roll passes. Now there is a significant amount of works devoted to research forming metal at a rolling in four-roll calibers. At present time there are a lot of works devoted to research of profile formation in such passes, especially for profiles having one axis of symmetry. The present work describes increase and pulling-down of flanges of the profile that is considered as one of the most difficult, from the point of view of hot rolling; it is tram rail that is asymmetric not only in vertical, but also in a horizontal plane. The factors and levels of their variation for the purpose of definition of their influence on fabrication of required profile, using the method of planning of multi-factorial experiment, have been defined at the stage of investigation of various rolling routes in four-roll passes. The research has been conducted at the stage of experiment planning using computer-aided mathematical simulation in correspondence with the grounds of continuum mechanics. Mathematical dependences, allowing to define increase and pulling-down of profile flanges depending on geometrical parameters of pass and deformation of profile elements have been received according to the developed deformation routes. The results of computer-aided simulation of the routes provided the optimum parameters, became the base for the pilot-industrial rolling finalized in obtaining the actual sizes of profile flanges. Good convergence of the results of computeraided simulation and pilot-industrial experiments has been established. The mathematical model allowing to provide optimum technology rolling of tram rails has been developed based on the received data.
