Abstract

The article reviews non-metallic material resources of Azerbaijan and specifi es areas of industrial use of nonmetallics. The list of non-metallic materials includes rock salt, sulphur pyrite, zeolite, barite, dolomite, island spar and piezoquartz. The general characteristic of deposits is given in terms of individual minerals: location, productive strata occurrence, qualitative composition, size of resources, degree of development and economic applicability. It is found that the deposits of nonmetallic minerals are currently insufficiently involved in the practical use but are highly capable to satisfy both the internal demand and the export production in Azerbaijan.
