Abstract |
Assessment of occupational risks represents a scientific analysis of their causes and scales relative to professional groups of workers. Naturally, the scale and difficulty level of a problem govern the choice of its solution methods. Availability of accurate and reliable statistical information is an obligatory condition for a company to set targets of the occupational safety policy and for making the associated provision. Rigorous statistical data on health and job security are of critical significance for the accepted policy monitoring and for the determination of preventive measures. The main emphasis is laid on the importance of the national statistics on industrial accidents and occupational diseases, as well as the labor safety monitoring, and the data assessment and analysis techniques. It is indicated that correlation of the actual estimates of professional risk with the specified criteria makes it possible to assess acceptability of safety levels for workers of specific profession r professional groups in the functioning of the man–technology–equipment–production environment system. Ranking and identification of the priority causes of incidents ensures implementation of preventive measures aimed at reduction of injury risks. |
