Chernye Metally
The first issue of "Chernye metally" journal, 2015 is opened by conventional section "Metallurgical news abroad". The following section "Development of metallurgy in Russia and CIS countries" is presented by 5 articles.
The paper written by A. I. Khassan, G. I. Kotelnikov, A. E. Semin, G. Mekahed from National University of Science and Technology "MISiS" describes the process of dephosphorizing in steel melting from metallized raw materials with increased phosphorus content. The experiments have been conducted at EZZ Flat Steel Works in Cairo, Egypt, with annual production capacity 1.2 mln. t of hot-rolled steel sheet with thickness 1.0-12.0 mm.
A. A. Yusupkhodzhaev, Kh. R. Valiev, S. R. Khudoyarov and S. T. Matkarimov from Tashkent State Technical University have analyzed in their paper possibility of efficiency rise of steel making production via additional recovery of valuable components from utilized slags in the conditions of JSC “Uzmetkombinat”. Various methods are investigated for their allocation, and gravitational enrichment on a concentration table is recognized as the most optimum technology.
Two publications are devoted to the problems of tube making. S. P. Galkin, B. A. Romantsev, E. A. Kharitonov (National University of Science and Technology "MISiS") presented the review of developments in the field of radial-shift rolling of metals and alloys. A number of highly-effective innovative technics of deformation processing of miscellaneous metals and alloys is presented. Among them: deep metal structuring and improvement of its properties; creation of automatic complexes of thermo-mechanical processing; recycling of out-of-service rods and off-gage bar-profiled residual portions; production of stock materials of optimum diameter for piercing with improvement of the continuously-cast product structure and toughness.
A. V. Vydrin and A. O. Struin from the Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Tube Industry, in the framework of survey about the annual "Tube-2014" conference in Chelyabinsk, have reviewed the main directions of the development of production technologies of welded tubes.
The section "Iron- and steelmaking" includes the articles by W. Urban, M. Weinberg, J. Cappel (Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann) about principles of steel dephosphorizing in a basic oxygen converter and by H. Zewe, A. Daelman, Y. Reuter, P. van Dorpe, J.-P. Simoes about analysis of operation of tuyeres in a blast furnace with assistance of TPDS system developed by Paul Wurth S.A.
The section "Rolling" contains also two papers - about putting into practice the new ESP units for hot strip casting and rolling in China (Siemens VAI Metals Technologies, at present time - Primetals Technologies), as well as about TopPlanHybrid optical system, developed by IMS Messsysteme for the Krefeld works of Outokumpu Nirosta.
The final publication in the issue is devoted to meteorite (containing Fe, Co, Ta, Mg, Mn, Cr and Ag) that has been found in 1985 at Yangantau hill.
