Tsvetnye Metally

The 9-th issue of the journal «Tsvetnye Metally» (Non-ferrous metals) (September 2016) shares the issues of theory and practice of ore dressing, materials science, production and processing of non-ferrous metals, complex use of crude ore, economics and management of production.

This year is the 100-th anniversary of the Ekaterinburg Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant. This issue tells about the efficient technology of obtaining of rhodium hydrochloric acid developed and introduced by the Plant specialists. This technology can be used by automobile catalysts and jewelry production enterprises, which have no own raw material base, but want their own precursor production for obtaining of autocatalytic compositions and rhodium plating electrolytes from rhodium powder.

The article “Possibility of extraction of secondary constituents during non-ferrous metal ore processing” (the “Benefication” item) considers the issues of by-product extraction of rare metals and scattered elements (Cu, Pb, Zn, Au, Ag, Re, Se, Te, S, Mo, Cd, In, Hg, Ga, Ge, Tl, Bi, Sb, Ba) on various stages of processing of non-ferrous metal ores (on example of various Kazakhstan ores). Extraction of secondary constituents in one or another flotation concentrates varies in rather wide limits. It is firstly connected with variety of their carrying minerals.

The article «Investigation of biohydrometallurgical technology of gold extraction from gold mining factory sorption tailings» tells about the developed biohydrometallurgical technology of processing of stale sulfide-bearing sorption tails of gold-mining factory Altyntau Kokshetau.

The article «Mechanical alloying of powder alloy Al – Si – Ni with nanosized carbon additions» shows the investigation of the effect of carbon-based additives on structure and properties of mechanically alloyed aluminum alloys Al – Si – Ni, designed for precision instrumentation. The use of carbon-based nanosized additives produces material with a low temperature coefficient of linear expansion and high strength characteristics compared to traditional surfactants.
