Gornyi Zhurnal
The April 2022 (No. 4) issue of Gornyi Zhurnal commemorates the 25th anniversary of Khiagda Joint Stock Company. The publications related to this jubilee tell about the Company’s history and experience gained in the in-situ leaching technology, in reduction of the adverse effect of hydrocarbonate–magnesium groundwater on the uranium production efficiency, in recovery of rare earths from the uranium-pregnant solutions, in groundwater resources management and application of digital technologies in physicochemical mining methods.
Furthermore, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Belarusian National Technical University, this issue offers a canvass of the research and education accord at the Mining and Engineering Ecology Department of the University, discusses the produced ore quality prediction and control procedure, describes the results of the broken rock grading assessment and the water intake well duty calculation by the analytical and semigraphical methods.
The other articles in this issue address the physics of rocks and processes, integrated mineral mining–processing–use management, and equipment and material utilization. The Physics of Rocks and Processes Section contains a discussion of the outcomes of IV Technical Council for Geomechanics held in Moscow (NUST MISIS, February 3, 2022), with an emphasis on some functional patterns of this forum, as well as on optional positive and negative variants of its future.
